Rhea Fortune

Rhea Fortune's extensive 32-year career in GME began in Cleveland, Ohio, and has since seen her become a pivotal figure in the field. Advancing through various roles including Program Coordinator for Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, and later Internal Medicine at Duke University Hospital. In 2011, she became the Institutional Coordinator and Manager of Duke's GME office, where she served until 2019. She was elected to the inaugural ACGME Coordinator Advisory Group (CAG) and selected by CAG as their representative to the ACGME’s physician wellness initiatives. Rhea's career is marked by her dedication to professional development, leading training sessions, and collaborating with GME leaders to navigate ACGME requirements and enhance institutional and program oversight. Her commitment to lifelong learning and growth has been a cornerstone of her professional journey. In 2019, Rhea took on a new challenge as a GME Consultant at MedHub, applying her extensive experience to help institutions with ACGME accreditation and process improvement. As a thought leader at MedHub, she continues to support GME programs and institutions, ensuring they deliver top-tier training to maintain the highest standards of healthcare. Rhea is also an active participant of the ACGME DEI Officers Forum, AHME, AACOM, and TAGME further showcasing her passion for excellence in medical education.

Leslie Johnson
Office of Graduate Medical Education, Duke University Hospital, GME Office Manager
Leslie Johnson serves as the Office Manager for the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) at Duke University Hospital. With a tenure beginning in 2004, Leslie has held nearly every position within the GME Office, showcasing her extensive experience and dedication. She oversees the office staff and collaborates with various departments within Duke and at the state level to ensure seamless and efficient operations. Each year, Leslie spearheads the onboarding process for over 400 trainees, working closely with program leadership to facilitate a smooth transition.

Sherolyn L. Patterson, CEAP
Neurosurgery Residency Program, Duke University Hospital, GME Program Administrator
Sherolyn Patterson has contributed 29 years to Duke University Hospital's GME community, including over 12 years in residency and fellowship roles before joining the Department of Neurosurgery in 2012. She has organized numerous educational sessions, served two non-consecutive 2-year terms as the Duke Program Administrators liaison to GME, a role which she currently holds. Sherolyn serves as a mentor to administrative staff, has presented at national ACGME and neurosurgery conferences and was the ARANS (Association of Residency Administrators in Neurological Surgery) President for 2023-2024. She oversees her department's Diversity committee and is part of the larger Duke's Diversity & Inclusion committee, bringing leadership, expertise, and a dynamic personality to her role.

Rachel W. Tutterow, MBA
- ECU Health Medical Center, Manager | Graduate Medical Education
Rachel Tutterow serves as a Program Manager for Graduate Medical Education (GME) at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Rachel manages the day-to-day operations of the GME office. This includes overseeing annual onboarding and offboarding, immigration, and ensuring compliance with various requirements throughout the year. ECU Health Medical Center has 420 current residents/fellows, with over 130 new residents and fellows joining the institution annually. As part of the GME leadership team, Rachel is involved in various meetings and educational activities for Program Coordinators and Program Directors throughout the year. She maintains close partnerships with other departments and entities, both internal and external to the organization.
