Rush University Medical Center Selects MedHub

Ann Arbor, Michigan — MedHub, Inc., an Ann Arbor, Michigan based software company, has announced it has concluded a contract with Chicago, Illinois based Rush University Medical Center to license its Residency Management System: MedHub. The MedHub system will be implemented across all 44 Residency and Fellowship programs representing nearly 600 residents within the enterprise. The MedHub system is an integrated web-based suite of modules developed to improve communication, information workflow and reporting for residency training program accreditation and Medicare reimbursement.

The MedHub system provides diverse stakeholders real-time access to information essential to managing their respective specialized tasks. Rush University Medical Center will use the MedHub the system to replace multiple databases and ad hoc processes with a single unified database and streamline workflow. The MedHub system will also be used to handle residency program Medicare reimbursement reporting and affiliated institutional billing.

The system will be regularly accessed by a user group that will include residents, faculty, program administrators, Graduate Medical Education, Finance, and others. MedHub promotes increased Medicare reimbursement opportunity by employing a novel workflow approach that improves stakeholder communication and reduces redundant effort.

Data managed by MedHub include: complex rotation and call schedules, faculty and resident demographics, resident evaluations, case logs/medical procedures, didactic conference management, resident duty hours. Institutional data managed and processed by MedHub include: payroll reporting, affiliated institutional billing, Medicare reimbursement, FTE calculations, and auditing functions.

MedHub also provides comprehensive reporting, error checking and back-end rules, flags, algorithms and message triggers to improve data quality as it moves between stakeholders.
