The Royal College of Surgeons – Faculty of Radiology Selects MedHub

Ann Arbor, Michigan – Today, MedHub, Inc., signed an agreement with the Royal College of Surgeons – Faculty of Radiology, Dublin, Ireland to deploy its MedHub enterprise residency management system.

This contract extends MedHub’s recent international market penetration by adding the Royal College of Surgeons to MedHub’s other International Client: Hamad Medical Corporation – Doha, Qatar, the largest academic teaching hospital in the Middles East.

The Royal College of Surgeons – Faculty of Radiology selected MedHub on the basis of its functionality to track and document faculty Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements (referred to as Continued Professional Development (CPD) in Ireland). Faculty members are required to achieve a specific number of CME credits annually to maintain their ability to practice. Not only must faculty achieve the required threshold, the institution must mange documentation that will show specific evidence each requirement was met for all faculty. MedHub will mange this process. RCS will also use the rest of the MedHub system to manage training activities of medical residents and fellows.

The CME functionality was originally developed in MedHub at the request of The University of Oklahoma and is now in use by faculty at most MedHub clients across North America. It allows MedHub clients to streamline a variety of associated tasks to eliminate costly legacy databases and redundant systems. MedHub will customize the current U.S. CME functionality to address CPD requirements in Canada and Europe.

CME/CPD functionality is typically outside the scope of a residency management system. However, the development of ancillary functionality that creates compatible synergies to drive a wide array of outcomes, reduce costs and streamline administrative tasks is what has propelled MedHub to a leadership position in the market.

The MedHub system is an integrated web-based suite of modules developed to improve communication, information workflow and reporting for physician training and residency program accreditation and institutional billing and Medicare reimbursement.
